Terms of Trade
1. Who you are dealing with
Grant Barnard trading as Gleek Transport & Trading, Three Gates Road, DA3 8NZ, United Kingdom. Email: sales@gleek.uk. Telephone: 01634 775667. WhatsApp: use the WhatsApp Gleek link on this website for messages.
2. Enquiries, quotes and bookings
This website accepts enquiries, not online orders. An enquiry alone does not reserve a date or form a contract. Before you commit, we will confirm in writing the goods or work, agreed price, any delivery or additional charges, applicable taxes, payment arrangements, timing and any job-specific conditions. A booking or sale is agreed when you and we expressly accept those details. These terms must be provided before that agreement; later website changes do not alter an existing contract.
Any deposit, payment deadline or cancellation arrangement must be expressly agreed before booking. Changes to the work or price require agreement; we do not treat an enquiry as permission for extra charges. We are not VAT registered and do not charge VAT. Quoted consumer prices include unavoidable charges.
3. Transport, delivery and collection information
Please provide accurate item descriptions, dimensions and weight where known, photographs, collection and delivery addresses, access restrictions, stairs, parking requirements and preferred dates. Tell us about fragile, valuable, dangerous or non-running items before booking. You must own the goods or have the owner’s permission to arrange their movement or disposal.
We will agree the loading, unloading, packing and access arrangements with you. If conditions are unsafe or materially different from those described, we may pause the work and discuss a safe solution and any proposed change in price. Nothing here removes our responsibility to perform agreed services with reasonable care and skill.
4. Waste and scrap enquiries
Every waste or scrap enquiry is assessed before acceptance. Sending an enquiry does not mean we can collect every waste type. We will only agree work that can lawfully be carried out within the registrations, permissions and arrangements applicable to the job. Identify all waste accurately and tell us about hazardous or restricted materials in advance. Required transfer documentation and disposal arrangements will be confirmed for an accepted collection. The farm Waste Holding & Sorting Area is not an approved Gleek destination and will not be used.
5. Timing and changes
Agreed dates, delivery arrangements and any essential deadline will be recorded in the booking. If a delay arises, we will tell you and discuss the available options. Your statutory rights where delivery or performance is late are unaffected. Please contact us promptly if you need to change or cancel. Where a statutory cancellation right does not apply, any charge must be lawful, fair and reflect reasonable loss actually caused, allowing for costs saved and the opportunity to rebook. There is no automatic non-refundable deposit under these website terms.
6. Returns and consumer cancellation rights
These rights apply when you act mainly outside your trade or business. Eligible contracts agreed entirely by distance, such as email or WhatsApp, normally have a 14-day cancellation period. Exceptions apply: in particular, a contract for transport of goods on a specified date or during a specified period is excluded from the statutory cooling-off right. This exception does not remove your rights if we breach the contract. We will identify the applicable cancellation position before you book.
For an eligible service, the cancellation period ends 14 days after the day the contract is made. If you expressly ask us to start during that period, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for work supplied before cancellation, where the law permits. You lose that cancellation right once the service is fully performed only if the required express request and acknowledgement have been given. Merely contacting us is not such a request.
For an eligible distance sale of goods, you can notify us of cancellation within 14 days after the day you or your nominated recipient receives the goods, then return them within a further 14 days. We will provide return instructions. You bear direct return costs only where we informed you before purchase; for goods that cannot normally be returned by post we will disclose the return cost before the contract. Statutory exceptions will be explained before any affected sale.
Where cancellation law requires a refund, we refund the relevant payments including the least expensive standard outward delivery offered. For returned goods, we may wait until we receive them or evidence of return, whichever is earlier, and will refund within the statutory 14-day deadline. Other eligible cancellations are refunded within 14 days of notice. We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. A lawful deduction may apply for handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of goods. Faulty-goods rights are separate.
How to cancel
Send a clear statement by email, WhatsApp or post using the details above. Sending your notice before the applicable deadline is sufficient. You may use this optional form:

7. Goods sales and your rights
Availability, ownership, description, condition, known defects, price and delivery or collection arrangements will be confirmed for each sale. Illustrative website placeholders are not photographs of stock or completed work. Used goods are assessed in light of their description, age, price and other relevant circumstances. We do not use “sold as seen” to remove consumer rights.
Goods supplied to consumers must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for a purpose made known and agreed where the law requires. Remedies may include the short-term right to reject faulty goods, repair or replacement, and an appropriate price reduction or final rejection. Services must be performed with reasonable care and skill; repeat performance or a price reduction may be available. Contact us promptly about a problem. These rights are not limited by a change-of-mind policy.
8. Responsibility and complaints
We remain responsible for loss or damage for which we are legally liable. Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability or consumer right which cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms impose no blanket exclusion for damage to goods entrusted to us.
For a complaint, email sales@gleek.uk with your booking or item details, what happened and the outcome you seek. We will acknowledge, preserve relevant evidence, investigate and respond, keeping you informed if more information is needed. If a consumer dispute remains unresolved, we will provide any alternative dispute resolution information required by law, including whether we are willing or obliged to use the relevant scheme.
9. Website, privacy and governing law
Website descriptions are general information; the accepted written quote sets out the specific job. Please do not misuse the website or copy our branding without permission. Read our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy for how information is handled. These terms are governed by English law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or court rights available where they live.
